The latest from the BURGH!

So by now I'm sure everyone who has been following this blog is very bored. Well unfortunately I am very bored as well in Pittsburgh. I haven't really met any people yet and Chris is a bookworm. We are both making the most of it though and looking forward to October 20th to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary! Yeah we are so excited and very much in love. Last night the Nurse Anesthesia department hosted a welcome night for the students and their loved ones it was a nice event and I got to meet a lot of Chris' classmates and professors. It is a very prestigious program and I'm so proud of Chris for getting accepted. I have to brag because he was chosen out of 400 applicants. Most of the people in the program didn't travel as far as we did but we met some people from New York and Oklahoma that are suffering through the Pittsburgh transition. It was ironic how we identified the most with the people from New York, and they say Oregon is in the dark ages. Ha ha!

Today Chris and I are having our first lazy day in Pittsburgh! Just hanging out watching the leaves turn, rain come down and of course COLLEGE FOOTBALL!! By now most of you know Chris has a slight obsession with Boise State and well I have to admit I kind of like Espn College game day. I'm hoping we can go for a drive soon and get lots of pictures of the area and all the leaves there are a million trees here which I love. We live right next to a very large park that has an outdoor ice skating rink in the winter. Well I have probably blabbed enough by now but I am so glad fall is here and I got to say goodbye to that horrible thing called HUMIDITY! I hope to post some pics soon. Pittsburgh is a beautiful city with lots of old homes and buildings.

Settling In

We have been in Pittsburgh for a month now and we are starting to get things figured out a little better. It doesn't take us 2 hours to run an errand anymore (-: Chris has started school and is already studying a lot. He goes to class from 8-3 MT,TH, F and 8-7 on W. I've been working for the past week but in orientation learning how they do things here in Pittsburgh which is a lot different than the west coast. I am also becoming quite the driver in all of this traffic they have here, I'll never complain again about Portland's traffic. Before Chris' school started we went to the Phipps conservatory which is one of the best conservatories in the United States.

It was really neat to see and they had a lot of glass work in it from the Seattle artist who did the Bellagio hotel's lobby in Vegas. Hope you enjoy the pictures. We miss everyone a lot!
